Wrapping headers and down pipes is a proven method to reduce unwanted under hood heat, resulting in a cooler air charge and improved engine performance. By keeping exhaust gases hotter within the system, this wrap helps decrease exhaust density and increase exhaust flow.

Note: For best results and prolonged lifespan of the wrap, use Design Engineering HT Silicone Coating spray to penetrate, seal, and protect the glass fiber material.
Caution: Do not wrap catalytic converters, as excessive heat retention can shorten their lifespan. Consider using a dedicated shield instead. Avoid wrapping flex-pipes or flex-joints, and do not remove or reposition the wrap after it has been heat cycled, as the fibers lose flexibility but retain thermal properties.
Titanium Exhaust Systems: DEI does not recommend wrapping titanium exhausts, as excessive heat retention may cause the alloy to become brittle and crack. For titanium systems, use flexible heat shields as an alternative.
