MMR Wheel Stud and Nut Kit for MINI
Regularly removing and refitting your wheels can be a frustrating experience with factory wheel bolts. The MMR Wheel Stud and Nut Kit simplifies this process, allowing for quick and easy wheel changes. The kit features M14 x 1.25 heat-treated high carbon steel studs with a chrome-plated finish, ensuring durability and reliability.
Upgrading to this stud and nut kit is a straightforward and reversible modification that enhances the efficiency of wheel changes. It accommodates various spacer sizes without the risk of running out of bolt threads. The studs are finished in a sleek midnight-black gloss anodizing, and both conical and ball seat lug nuts are available to match factory or aftermarket wheels.
Available Stud Lengths:
- 70mm Stud: Suitable for no spacers or up to 10mm spacers.
- 80mm Stud: Designed for spacers between 10mm to 20mm.
Nut Types: Choose between ball seat nuts or conical seat nuts based on your wheel requirements. Most OEM wheels typically use conical seat nuts.
Features:
- Stronger fixing with high tensile steel motorsport studs and larger anodized wheel nuts, exceeding factory bolt strength for enhanced safety.
- Facilitates quick wheel changes, ideal for track use with frequent wheel swaps.
- Easy installation with MMR studs replacing original wheel bolts, featuring allen drive inserts for straightforward fitting and removal.
Additional Information:
Maximum vehicle weight: 2500 KG. This kit is not a locking or security solution. To maintain the anodized finish, avoid aggressive acidic or alkaline cleaners. Use only pH balanced cleaners and mild soap for washing.
Fitting Instructions:
1. Remove the wheels and clean the threads in the hub and the short ends of the new studs with a suitable solvent, ensuring they are free from dirt and grease.
2. Check that the shank of the stud passes easily through the disc holes without bottoming out on the brake disc.
3. Apply a thin layer of Loctite Blue 2422 or a similar high-temperature rated adhesive to the threads of the stud.
4. Using a 6mm Allen Key, screw the short end of the stud into the hub until the shank is reached. Do not over-tighten; aim for around 30 ft-lbs / 40 Nm.
5. Allow the Loctite to cure for about three hours, then refit the wheels using the new nuts with a 19mm socket. Torque the wheel nuts to the factory specification of the original lug bolts.
6. Recheck the torque of the studs after 30 minutes of driving.
Vehicle Fitment:
- All Mini F-Series.
