This occurs because the direct injection fueling system sprays fuel directly into the combustion chamber, leaving the intake valves uncleaned by fuel. As a result, carbon deposits, originating from oil fumes of the stock PCV system, accumulate on the valves.

The RTMG Oil Catch Can kit can reduce carbon build-up on the intake valves by up to 60%. Additionally, the catch can prevents oil from pooling in the intercooler and intercooler hoses.
