The Mishimoto Baffled Oil Catch Can Kit for Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 is designed to keep harmful blow-by vapors from re-entering the engine through the PCV system. While the FA20’s direct-injection system is paired with port injectors to help reduce carbon buildup, oil vapor and deposits can still be a concern over time. This kit is intended to help the boxer engine stay cleaner and run at its best.

After thousands of test miles on a Subaru BRZ, Mishimoto found the most effective single-can setup for the majority of BRZ/86 vehicles is installation in the vacuum-assisted PCV circuit at the rear of the engine, where oil accumulation is highest during both normal and aggressive driving. A can installed on the front crankcase vent circuit typically shows little to no accumulation on stock or modified vehicles. Mishimoto notes a second catch can on the crankcase vent side is mainly beneficial for forced-induction setups.
