Compatibility:
Fits most BMW non-M models. For exact fitment, provide the last 7 digits of your VIN. Please review the exceptions and notes below.
- 1 Series: E81, E82, E87, E88, F20
- 3 Series: E30, E36, E46, E90, E91, E92, E93, F30
- 5 Series: E28, E34, E39, E60, E61, F10
- 6 Series: E63, E64
- 7 Series: E23, E32, E38, E65, E66, E67
- X1: E84 (rear differential)
- X3: E83 (rear differential)
- X5: E53, E70 (rear differential)
Exceptions:
- Z4 and X3 use the 188L (168L) differential, although catalog may show 188K (168K).
- Models produced after 2008 use 188LW differentials, though catalogs may list 188L.
- E36 Compact (2000) uses 188K, though catalog may list 188mm.
Important Notes:
- Inspect the inner surface of the small spider gears before installation. If not smooth, machining is recommended for optimal performance.
- BMW models produced after 2008 have a welded ring gear. To install any aftermarket LSD, including RacingDiffs, the ring gear must be machined off.
Recommended Oil: Motul Gear Competition 75w140.
