Exceptions:
- Z4, X3 use the 188L (168L) differential, though catalogs may list 188K (168K).
- All models produced after 2008 feature the 188LW, despite catalogs showing 188L.
- E36 Compact (production year 2000) uses 188K, though catalog lists 188mm.
Important Notes:
- Before installation, inspect the inner surface of the small spider gears. If not smooth, machining is recommended for optimal function.
- Post-2008 BMWs have a welded ring gear. For any LSD installation, including RacingDiffs, the ring gear must be machined off.
