Exceptions:

1. Z4 and X3 models use the 188L (168L) differential type, though catalog may show 188K (168K).
2. All models produced after 2008 use 188LW, though catalog may show 188L.
3. E36 Compact (production year 2000) uses 188K, though catalog may show 188mm.

Important Notes:

• Before installation, inspect the inner surface of small spider gears for damage. If not smooth, machining is recommended for optimal performance.
• BMW models produced after 2008 have a welded ring gear to the carrier unit. For LSD installation, including RacingDiffs, the ring gear must be machined off.
