The EMU Black is a stand-alone engine management system engineered for advanced and complex engines. Building upon the proven EMU platform, the EMU Black features improved hardware and software, designed for use in race cars, road cars, motorcycles, boats, and stationary engines.

It provides full control of fuel, ignition, and auxiliary systems for 1-12 cylinder engines, including support for drive-by-wire throttles and variable valve timing (VVT). The EMU Black can drive up to 6 passive coils or 12 smart coils directly, without the need for external amplifiers or power modules. Advanced drive-by-wire strategies ensure precise throttle control and comprehensive fault checking for safety.

The system offers ongoing capability enhancements through free firmware updates, adding new features such as strategies, trigger patterns, and CAN data streams.

Key features include a built-in wideband lambda input (compatible with Bosch LSU 4.2 and LSU 4.9 sensors), onboard 4 bar MAP sensor with dedicated connector, two EGT probe inputs, and direct input for a Flex Fuel ethanol content sensor. These integrated features provide flexibility, reduce installation complexity, and eliminate the need for additional signal conditioning modules or extra wiring.
