This product contains extreme pressure additives for optimal protection in road cars and racing vehicles, along with friction modifiers for proper limited-slip operation.

Fully synthetic formulas derived from polyol ester base stocks provide excellent lubrication under extreme conditions. Ester base stocks and friction modifiers enhance slipperiness, lowering operating temperatures by reducing sliding friction in hypoid gears. The high viscosity-index ensures relatively constant viscosity and film thickness with varying temperature changes. This product offers superior shear stability and reduced oxidation compared to other synthetics and conventional gear oils, exceeding API GL-5 specifications. It is engineered for maximum protection and improved differential efficiency, resulting in better mileage, longer drain intervals, and reduced wear.

Technical Details

Limited-slip or Positraction units utilize plates or clutches to achieve the necessary lock-up in the differential. Slippery lubricants are essential to prevent chatter; however, excessive slipperiness can lead to increased wheel spin and reduced traction. For optimal traction, use Red Line 75W90NS and add the Red Line Limited-Slip Differential Friction-Modifier / Break-In Additive until chatter is eliminated.

This product meets the performance requirements of GM 1052358, Ford M2C118-A, 19B546-MA, Chrysler 4318060, and most imports.

Recommended Dosage:
Use 4% for preventing limited slip chatter in broken-in units (typical one 114ml bottle) or 4 to 8% for the break-in of new differentials.

The Red Line Limited-Slip Differential Friction-Modifier / Break-In Additive significantly reduces friction during the break-in of differentials. High temperatures during break-in can damage the hardening of gear teeth, leading to rapid wear. This additive can lower break-in temperatures by as much as 10°C, improving break-in conditions. It is compatible with both petroleum and synthetic gear oils. Red Line Gear Oils already contain this additive (except the NS).

In non-limited-slip racing differentials and quick-change units using Red Line ShockProof Gear Oils, an additional 3 to 6% of the Red Line Limited-Slip Differential Friction-Modifier / Break-In Additive is recommended.
