AEM's X-Series Inline Wideband UEGO Air/Fuel Ratio Controllers utilize patented, 100% digital technology, making them the fastest responding wideband air/fuel ratio controllers in independent testing. This model replaces the popular 30-2310 Inline Controller.
The X-Series Inline Wideband UEGO Controller features a weather-resistant, low-profile enclosure with status LEDs, making it ideal for users who do not require a gauge display but seek rapid response times for data logging or feedback control when tuning with an engine management system.
Included with the X-Series Inline Controller are a 0-5V and RS232 Serial Port output for feedback control and data logging, as well as an AEMnet (CANbus) output for daisy chaining multiple X-Series Controllers (up to 16 cylinders) to record AFR across multiple cylinders. It supports vehicle/system voltages up to 16V and is compatible with both EFI and carbureted applications, as well as dynamometers using gasoline, methanol, ethanol, Diesel, propane, and CNG.
PATENTED X-DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY
The patented X-Digital wideband technology (Patent 9,575,030) enables these controllers to read and report values that others cannot, optimizing engine tuning and enhancing overall safety. The high-speed digital implementation ensures no loss of signal fidelity and full transient response, allowing for the detection of even the slightest fluctuations in AFR.
RESPONSE TIME IMPORTANCE
Faster response times enhance wideband feedback control, contributing to a safer, more powerful, and accurate tune. AEM's Wideband Controllers with X-Series digital technology can minimize deadtime, improving vehicle performance through precise AFR tuning. Deadtime refers to the delay between changes in exhaust gas composition and their reporting by the O2 sensor, which can be influenced by various factors, including the response of the sensing element, especially at high RPM under load.
When tuning an engine using wideband AFR feedback control on an inertia dyno, deadtime can misrepresent data, as it is reported from a different operating location than when it occurred. This can lead to incorrect adjustments in base fueling, posing risks for high compression and high-boost forced induction vehicles, as well as EFI systems utilizing feedback control for auto-tuning.
Reducing deadtime enhances wideband feedback control, resulting in a safer and more accurate tune.
