BP-28 Compound
Pad Characteristics
- BP-28 compound pad is suitable for high-temperature applications with medium-high friction on titanium/stainless rotors and low-medium temperature with medium friction on steel/iron rotors.
- Predictable, consistent pedal feel.
- Medium-low pad wear on steel/iron/stainless rotors.
- Medium-high pad wear on titanium rotors.
- Applications include dirt oval, off-road, track day road course, and drag racing.

Temperature range and overall friction value are critical for pad selection. Pads must maintain adequate friction for stopping power within the expected track temperatures. Overall wear rate is also a consideration. For asphalt and road race applications, compounds in the high-temperature range over 1000°F are typically necessary. Dirt track, drag race, and street performance applications usually operate between 500° and 1000°F. These are general ranges; many factors can influence brake temperatures. On-track performance is the best indicator for pad selection. If pad fade occurs due to overheating, improved cooling, a heavier rotor, or a higher temperature range pad may be required.
