Features

• Designed for specific high horsepower applications, Athena Cooper Ring gaskets significantly enhance engine performance. They are supplied with stainless steel rings.
• This technology surpasses conventional fire ring solutions. The reinforced material M0115 is an asbestos-free composite raw material that is OE approved.

Properties

• Motorgasket M0115 exhibits excellent mechanical and thermal stress resistance, conforming well to sealing faces. It is resistant to oils, fuels, water mixtures, antifreeze, and corrosion inhibitors.
• The stainless steel ring (AISI 304) ensures maximum sealing around the cylinder bore, even in NOS and/or turbocharged engines with boost levels exceeding 2 bars.
• No head and block machining is required for installation.
• Silicon beading: Silicon-based beading is applied to critical areas to enhance sealing around cooling water and oil passages.

Surfaces

• Colored: Grey
• Treatment: Special coatings, such as a PTFE anti-stick coating or a silicon coating, are applied for stressed applications to improve micro-sealing and silicon beading.

Cooper Ring Manufacturing Process for Ring Gasket

1. Pressing Process: Each gasket is pressed to achieve the required flatness according to specified tolerances.
2. Silicon Beading: A silicon bead is added over specific gasket areas to enhance sealing around liquid passages (water and oil).
3. Finishing: Various superficial coatings are applied to improve performance, prevent sticking, and enhance high-temperature resistance.
4. Cooper Ring Assembling: Each gasket with a steel ring is manually refined to ensure perfect installation of the cooper ring.

Athena Gasket: High Performance Cooper Ring Insert

For very high horsepower applications, a conventional or MLS head gasket can be significantly improved by utilizing a different sealing system for the combustion area. Athena employs a proprietary INOX steel fire ring that offers enhanced sealing technologies compared to copper and conventional fire rings, dramatically increasing the cylinder head gasket's resistance to extreme conditions.
