75W140NS GL-5 Gear Oil
Red Line 75W140NS GL-5 Gear Oil is a fully-synthetic, ester-based gear lubricant engineered for demanding historic and vintage manual transmissions and racing limited-slip differentials. This formulation contains extreme pressure (EP) additives for maximum gear protection but is intentionally free of friction modifiers, making it suitable for synchro-equipped gearboxes that require minimal slipperiness for proper operation.
- Formulated without friction modifiers to ensure ideal synchronizer function—recommended for mid-1930s to early-1950s synchro-equipped transmissions in cars and trucks.
- Addresses noisy or rough shifting in A-833 Dodge/Plymouth 4-speed transmissions (1964–1969).
- Can be blended with 75W90NS to increase viscosity for noisy transmissions.
- Used in clutch-type limited-slip differentials in racing for maximum lock-up; users may add limited slip friction modifier as needed to fine-tune slippage.
- Non-corrosive and safe for all synchronizer materials.
