High quality exhaust wrap can withstand a temperature of 800 degrees C, temporarily up to 1000 degrees C. It is manufactured in Austria by a company specialising in the manufacture of heat shields, much better than the Chinese wraps "up to 1200 degrees". It is used for wrapping the manifold and other exhaust system components. It significantly reduces the temperature under the hood. When it is used in turbocharged cars it will also slightly reduce the "lag" by increasing the energy of the fumes.
