CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for Toyota Yaris XP21 (vent-mounted, vehicle-specific)
The CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 replaces an air vent with a vehicle-specific display mount that still allows airflow past the screen. It’s designed for straightforward installation, with illustrated instructions available for most versions.
Key features
- OEM-style fitment: Vehicle-specific bezel with retained vent airflow
- CAN Bus data: In-depth ECU data readout similar to manufacturer diagnostic tools
- Gear display: Via CAN Bus or calculated from vehicle speed and RPM
- Touchscreen control: Page navigation with swipe gestures
- Custom pages: Build your own layouts, add images, and set a start animation
- Sensor inputs: Up to 4 analog inputs plus direct ethanol sensor input
- CAN switching: Use the display as a keypad and send your own CAN messages
- Configurable alarms: User-set warnings (e.g., EGT warning above 900°C)
- Data logging: Log to the internal SD card for later review
- Performance meter: 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200 timing without extra hardware
- DTC functions*: Read and clear faults from engine ECU, transmission, ABS, and all-wheel drive
- Auto dimming*: Dims with the instrument panel
*Not available on all protocols.
Pages and layouts
- Delivered with predefined sample pages
- Create your own pages (up to 10 total)
- 20 widget types (e.g., sensor value, analogue pointer, YT diagram, speed bar, round display, vertical/horizontal bar)
- Drag-and-drop positioning and scalable widget sizes
- Fully adjustable widget colours
- Up to 64 widgets per page
Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to customize the display, download and view log files via the integrated log viewer, and use the built-in CAN logger. The integrated TRI Editor lets you configure sensors (CAN Bus or internal), set min/max warning thresholds, and rename sensors.
Supported ECU values
The display supports CAN Bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It ships with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried (varies by engine). Example values include:
Temperatures
- Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature
Pressures
- Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure actual/target
Lambda / mixture
- Lambda value, injection time, short term lambda adjustment, long term lambda adjustment
Other
- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values
If values are missing, they can be added later.
What’s included
- MFD32 Gen2 data display integrated in the ventilation insert for RHD vehicles
- Connector A (8-way Molex)
- Connector B (10-way Molex)
- Pre-assembled connection cables (20 cm) for power supply, CAN Bus, analogue inputs, 5V, and sensor ground
- Pins for self-crimping
- Two 1K resistors (pull-up for external NTC sensors)
- Quickstart guide
- USB data cable
- SD card (pre-installed)
- SD card adapter
- Display foil (anti-reflection)
Sensor connection and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
Connection can be done using the pre-assembled AIN wiring harness.
An external 8-LED shift light can be connected, with flash colours and speed limits configured directly on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display using a 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and the signal, enabling ethanol content and temperature display and logging.
Advanced functions
- Math-Channels: Calculate new channels from existing sensors
- User-Table: Create additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps
Optional accessories
- CC24000 SLM08 - external switching lightning module
- CC22780 ANC04 - four-way AIN-harness
- CC22100 CBD08 - eight-way Can Distribution Hub
- CC22902 NTC01 - temperature sensor for liquids 1/ inch" NPT
- CC22903 TCC01 - type K converter 0-1250°C
- CC22901 FLP01 - pressure sensor 0-10 bar (145psi) M10x1
