CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 Data Display Kit for Kia Stinger

This vehicle-specific MFD15 Gen2 kit for the Kia Stinger adds a compact OLED data display with a matching bezel and connection cable. The OLED panel remains easy to read even in direct sunlight. Operation is via the two front push buttons, with support for an optional external rotary knob.

WiFi setup with oDSS

MFD15 Gen2 supports WiFi access for configuration via smartphone or PC. With oDSS you can fully configure pages and sensors, upload a startup image, and update the display. Logging in oDSS requires a license.

CAN/OBD and supported ECUs

The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Which data is available depends on what your ECU transmits over CAN; documentation such as a DBC file can be imported via DSS. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

OBD2 via CAN (11-bit/29-bit) is implemented, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS or TP2 are available.

For VAG vehicles from model year 2008 (in some cases older), in-depth protocol-based queries are available (examples listed: oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation).

Integrated LED (shift light / warning)

The internal LED can be configured as:

• Shift light: up to 8 colors, adjustable RPM thresholds, and a configurable flash point
• Warning LED: per-sensor min/max limits; LED flashes in the configured color when out of range (shift light is disabled during warnings)

Analog inputs and sensor presets

Six analog inputs support 0–5V linear sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensor curves are stored from the factory for plug-and-play operation with these presets:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K EGT transducer (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
• AIN5: Not preconfigured
• AIN6: Not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Optional licenses

Live Logging

With the “Live Logging” license, the display can log sensor data into oDSS and download the log file to a smartphone or PC. All sensors are logged, except for OBD and UDS where only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor directly to MFD15 Gen2)

With the ethanol sensor license, an ethanol sensor can be connected directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor is required between 5V and the signal. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN Switching and AIN forwarding

With the CAN Switching/AIN forwarding license, the display buttons or rotary knob can control CAN switches and forward analog input voltages onto the CAN bus.
