AEM High Output Smart Coil SpecificationsThis high output AEM smart coil puts an end to the compromise between spark energy and spark duration thanks to its exceptional performance. It combines in a single product energy and voltage equivalent to those generated by a Capacitive Discharge Ignition system (CDI) and the long duration characteristic of an inductive coil. It's the best of both worlds and will deliver its full potential in high-compression high-revving forced induction and/or NOS-equipped engines.Reserved for competition the high-output IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) AEM coils are designed for use in applications where no external igniter is required. They each deliver more than 100 mJ of spark energy and a minimum of 40 000 volts - as much as most CDI systems - all without an additional module! They also provide a very long spark duration (up to 2.9 ms) unlike CDI systems and multi-spark igniters which emit small sparks before and after the burst to mimic a longer duration.Perfectly sealed and shock-resistant these coils are an even more cost-effective solution than the popular LS1 high-performance coils. They can be mounted easily and directly to the engine.
