Toyota Supra CAN-Bus Data Display (MFD28 Gen2)
This Toyota Supra-specific display integrates into the cockpit using a custom-made panel and reads vehicle data directly via CAN-Bus to the MFD28 display. A tailored CAN-Bus protocol is used for fast data polling.
Highlights
- Cockpit-integrated fitment with vehicle-specific panel
- Reads CAN-Bus data and displays it on an MFD28 Gen2
- Supports up to 128 sensors (depending on vehicle/ECU)
- 10 configurable display pages via DSS (Display Setup Software)
- Preconfigured display modes for quick setup
- Plug-and-play installation with vehicle-specific cable kit
- 4 analog inputs (0–5V and NTC supported) for additional sensors
- Ethanol sensor connection option (pull-up resistor required)
- Optional glare shield support for improved readability
- Switch pages using the factory cruise control switch
- Data logging to internal SD card (continuous or on-demand)
Functions
- Performance meter: Acceleration timing for 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200
- Logging: On-demand (touch to start) or continuous logging; last drive data is retained
- Configurable alerts: Threshold-based warnings (example: exhaust temperature over 900°C)
- Error reading/clearing: Read and clear ECU fault messages
- Personalization: Custom startup screen and selectable widgets
Typical CAN-Bus Data (via included TRI file)
Available sensors depend on engine/ECU.
- Temperatures: coolant, intake air, exhaust gas, transmission
- Pressures: boost, ambient, oil
- Lambda/fueling: lambda target/actual, short-term and long-term lambda adaptation, MAF, engine load, torque
- Driver dynamics: brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle / pedal position
- Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition correction per cylinder
Analog Inputs & Expansion
Add sensors such as oil temperature, fuel pressure, oil pressure, exhaust gas temperature, and more. An ethanol sensor can be connected for flex-fuel monitoring.
Supported CANchecked sensors (pre-integrated in TRI/TRX files):
- AIN1: Temperature sensor
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature sensor
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute
An external 8-LED flash module can be connected for configurable shift/rev limit indication.
Ethanol sensor wiring note: A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required. Ethanol content and temperature can then be displayed and logged.
Advanced Setup
- Math channels for linking/deriving sensor values
- User tables for creating additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps
Compatibility
The display frame is suitable for Toyota Supra models across generations and engine variants. A right-hand drive (RHD) version is available.
