BMW F-Series CAN-Bus Display (MFD28 Gen2)

This BMW F-series display reads vehicle data directly via the CAN-Bus protocol and shows it on an integrated MFD28 display. It is designed to fit cleanly into the factory cockpit using a model-specific bezel, with a CAN-Bus configuration adapted for fast query speed.

Functions

• Performance meter: 0–100, 100–200, 0–200 acceleration timing

• Error reading/clearing: read and clear ECU fault messages on the display
• Personalization: customizable startup screen and widget selection

CAN-Bus Sensor Data (TRI File)

A preconfigured TRI file is supplied listing available channels (availability depends on engine/ECU).

• Temperatures: coolant, intake air, exhaust gas temperature, transmission
• Pressures: boost, ambient, oil pressure
• Lambda / fueling: lambda target/actual, short- and long-term lambda adaptation, MAF, engine load, torque
• Driver dynamics: brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle / pedal position
• Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition correction per cylinder

Analog Inputs & Expansion

Four analog inputs support both linear 0–5V and NTC sensors for add-ons such as oil temperature, fuel pressure, oil pressure, exhaust gas temperature, and more.

Preconfigured CANchecked Sensor Inputs (TRI/TRX)

• AIN1: Temperature sensor
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature probe
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute

An external 8-LED flash module can be connected and configured for rev-limit indication (color and behavior set via the display).

Ethanol Sensor Connection

The ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required. Ethanol content and temperature can then be displayed and logged.

Advanced Configuration

• Math channels: combine and process sensor values
• User tables: create additional channels using 2D or 3D maps

Vehicle Compatibility

Fits BMW Fxx models including M models, 2 Series, 3 Series, and 4 Series. A right-hand drive (RHD) version is also available.
