CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 Display

The CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 is a compact 52 mm auxiliary display designed to keep key engine and vehicle data in your line of sight. It uses an OLED screen for clear readability, including in direct sunlight, and fits common 52 mm interior bezels without requiring a vehicle-specific holder.

Control is via two windshield-mounted push buttons, with an optional external rotary knob available.

WLAN setup and oDSS

The MFD15 Gen2 can be accessed over WLAN for setup via smartphone or PC. In oDSS you can configure the display, upload a startup image, update firmware, and (with the appropriate license) log values.

ECU data and protocol support

The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. In practice, the available parameters depend on what your ECU transmits on the CAN bus. If available, ECU documentation (for example a DBC file) can be used and imported via DSS/oDSS.

Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried. OBD2 queries via CAN (11-bit/29-bit) are supported, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2 are available.

VW/Audi in-depth data (from model year 2008)

For VW/Audi vehicles from 2008, protocol-based in-depth queries are available, including values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation, and more.

Internal LED (shift light and warning)

The internal LED can be used as a shift light and as a warning LED.

• Shift light: assign up to 8 colors and RPM limits, including a configurable RPM where flashing begins.
• Warning LED: set min/max limits per sensor in oDSS (Sensors) and enable LED warnings; when a limit is exceeded, the LED flashes in the configured color. During a warning, shift-light mode is disabled.

Connections and expansion

Analog inputs

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5 V sensors and NTC sensors.

CANchecked sensor presets are stored in TRI/TRX files by default:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor
• AIN2: Transducer for exhaust gas temperature probe type K
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute
• AIN5: Not preconfigured
• AIN6: Not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection.

With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can additionally be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Live Logging

With the optional Live Logging license, the display can log sensor data into oDSS and you can download the log file to your smartphone or PC.

Note: For OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor directly on the MFD15 Gen2)

With the ethanol sensor license, an ethanol sensor can be connected directly to the display. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and signal. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN Switching and AIN forwarding

With the CAN Switching and AIN forwarding license, the display buttons or rotary knob can be used to switch CAN switches, and analog input voltages can be forwarded onto the CAN bus.
