CANchecked MFD15 Gen3 Data Display Kit for Audi A4 B6/B7

This vehicle-specific MFD15 Gen3 kit is designed to keep key engine and vehicle data in view. The OLED screen remains easy to read even in direct sunlight. The kit includes a model-specific bezel and connection cable set, and is operated via the two front push buttons (optional rotary knob supported).

WiFi configuration with oDSS

The MFD15 Gen3 can be accessed via WiFi for full configuration through oDSS on a smartphone or PC. oDSS also supports device updates, uploading a custom startup image, and data logging (license required).

ECU/CAN and supported values

The display is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available data depends on what your ECU transmits on the CAN bus. DBC documentation can be imported via DSS, and CANchecked provides a library of implemented ECUs. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

OBD2 via CAN (11-bit/29-bit) is supported, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS or TP2 are available.

If an ECU is not listed, the appropriate TRI/TRX can be downloaded or requested from the database.

For VAG vehicles from model year 2008 (and in some cases older), in-depth protocol-based queries are available for values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle correction, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation, and more.

Integrated LED functions

The built-in LED can be configured as:

• Shift light: Up to 8 colors, configurable RPM thresholds, and a configurable flash point.
• Warning LED: Set minimum and maximum limits per sensor; the LED flashes in the configured color when out of range. Shift light operation is disabled during a warning.

Analog inputs and sensor support

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensor calibration curves are stored in the display from the factory for plug-and-play use:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type-K EGT transducer (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
• AIN5: Not preconfigured
• AIN6: Not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Additional licenses

Live Logging

With the “Live Logging” license, the display can log sensor data into oDSS and the log can be downloaded to a smartphone or PC. For OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor direct)

The Flex Fuel license enables direct connection of an ethanol sensor to the display. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5V and signal. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN switching and AIN forwarding

This license enables switching CAN switches using the display buttons or rotary knob, and forwarding analog input voltages onto the CAN bus.
