CANchecked SWD32 Gen2 Data Display

The CANchecked SWD32 Gen2 is a compact, intelligent vehicle data display designed for dished steering wheels with a 6x70 mm mounting pattern. Its lightweight plastic housing has a symmetrical layout and can be installed in either vertical or horizontal orientation.

Display Setup Software (DSS)

CANchecked DSS is used to configure the display, download and view log files, and run the integrated CAN logger. The built-in TRI Editor allows sensor setup for both CAN bus and internal inputs, including renaming sensors and setting min/max warning thresholds.

Data and protocols

The SWD32 Gen2 supports CAN bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It is supplied with predefined TRI/TRX files; available channels depend on the specific engine/ECU configuration and can be extended later if values are missing.

Examples of supported channels

Temperatures:

• Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature

Pressures:

• Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)

Lambda/mixture:

• Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment

Other:

• RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

Connections and expansion

Four analog inputs support linear 0–5 V signals as well as NTC sensors. CANchecked sensors are included in the TRI/TRX definitions by default and only need to be wired.

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
• AIN3: 0–10 bar pressure sensor (FLP01)
• AIN4: 0–5.5 bar absolute boost pressure sensor (BST01)

An external shift light with eight LEDs can be connected; colours and RPM thresholds are configured on the display.

An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor is required between 5V and the signal line to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
