CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 for VW Golf MK5
The vehicle-specific MFD28 Gen2 replaces an air vent with a fully integrated data display while still allowing airflow past the screen. Installation is designed to be DIY-friendly, with illustrated instructions available for most displays.

Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to fully customize the display. It includes a log viewer to download and review log files, an integrated CAN logger, and a TRI Editor to manage sensors (CAN bus or internal), set min/max warning limits, and rename sensors.
Supported ECU values
The display supports CAN bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols). It ships with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried; coverage depends on engine, and values can be added later.

- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

Connections and expansion
Connect sensors via four analog inputs. Linear 0–5V and NTC sensors are supported. CANchecked sensors are predefined in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be wired:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: 0–10 bar pressure sensor (FLP01)
- AIN4: 0–5.5 bar absolute boost pressure sensor (BST10)
A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection. An external shift light with eight LEDs can also be connected, with colors and shift points configurable on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display; a 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
