CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 Vent Display for Toyota GT86 (ZN6)

The MFD28 Gen2 replaces an air-vent insert with a vehicle-specific display solution designed to fit cleanly while still allowing airflow past the screen. It’s intended for straightforward installation and is commonly supported by illustrated installation instructions.

Display Setup Software (DSS)

DSS is used to customize the display, download and review log files, and use the integrated CAN logger. The integrated TRI Editor lets you configure sensors (CAN bus or internal), set min/max warning thresholds, and rename sensors.

Supported data & vehicle communication

The display supports CAN bus data query (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It ships with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried (varies by engine). If values are missing, they can be added later.

Temperatures

• Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature

Pressures

• Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)

Lambda / mixture

• Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment

Other

• RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

Connection & expansion

External sensors can be connected via four analog inputs. Supported sensor types include linear 0–5V and NTC. CANchecked in-house sensors are already stored in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)

A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection.

An external 8-LED shift light can be connected; flash colours and RPM limits are configurable on the display.

An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and the signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
