MFD28 Seat/Cupra Formentor LHD Display

The MFD28 display for Seat/Cupra Formentor LHD integrates cleanly into the factory cockpit using a custom bezel and reads vehicle data directly via CAN-Bus. A specially adapted CAN-Bus protocol is used to achieve fast query speeds.

Functions

• Performance meter: Acceleration timing for 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200.
• Data logging: Start logging with a touch or run continuously; last trip data is saved.
• Configurable alerts: Adjustable pre-configured warnings (e.g., exhaust temperature threshold at 900°C).
• Error reading/clearing: Read and delete engine control unit fault messages on the display.
• Personalization: Custom startup screen and widget selection.

Available CAN-Bus data (vehicle/engine dependent)

A pre-configured TRI file is supplied by default and includes all queryable sensors, such as:

• Temperatures: Engine coolant, intake air, exhaust gas, transmission.
• Pressures: Boost, ambient, oil pressure.
• Lambda/fueling: Lambda target/actual, short-term and long-term lambda adaptation, MAF, engine load, torque.
• Driver dynamics: Brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle/pedal position.
• Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition angle correction per cylinder.

Not every engine provides every data channel.

Analog inputs and expansion

Additional sensors can be added (e.g., oil temperature, fuel pressure, oil pressure, exhaust temperature). An ethanol sensor can also be used for flex-fuel applications.

Pre-integrated sensor inputs (TRI/TRX)

• AIN1: Temperature sensor
• AIN2: Exhaust gas temperature probe (Type K)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute

External flash module

An optional 8-LED external flash module can be connected and configured through the display for RPM limit indication with selectable colors.

Ethanol sensor wiring note

The ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10k pull-up resistor between 5V and the signal line is required to read and log ethanol content and temperature.

Advanced configuration

Math Channels allow linking sensor data. User Tables support creation of additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps.

Vehicle compatibility

Suitable for all MFD28 Seat/Cupra Formentor LHD models, including Leon KL. A right-hand drive (RHD) version is also available.
