MFD28 Hyundai i30N vFL Display
The MFD28 Hyundai i30N vFL Display is an in-cluster data display that reads ECU sensor data directly over the vehicle’s manufacturer-specific CAN bus. It’s designed to integrate cleanly into the interior using a custom-made frame with an OEM-style fit. The CAN protocol has been optimized for high query speed.
Key features
- OEM-style integration via custom frame
- Queries up to 128 sensors
- 10 individually configurable pages via DSS (Display Setup Software)
- Pre-configured views for quick setup
- Plug-and-play installation using the supplied OBD connection cable
- 4 analog inputs for additional sensors (e.g., exhaust temperature, oil pressure)
- Direct ethanol sensor integration
- Optional anti-glare film for improved readability
- Sensor query performance comparable to manufacturer diagnostic tools
Functions
- Performance meter: Acceleration timing for 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200
- Data logging: Logs to the internal SD card; on-demand or continuous. Data from the last drive is stored.
- Alarms: Configurable preset warnings (e.g., exhaust temperature over 900)
- ECU faults: Read faults in plain text and delete them
- Customization: Startup screen and widget selection configurable
Vehicle compatibility
Fits all left-hand drive MFD28 Hyundai i30N vFL models. A right-hand drive version is available.
ECU data (pre-configured TRI file)
The display is supplied with a pre-configured TRI file defining available CAN sensors. Typical channels include (availability depends on engine):
- Temperatures: engine coolant, intake air, exhaust, transmission
- Pressures: boost, ambient, oil pressure
- Lambda/mixture: lambda target/actual, short-term and long-term lambda adaptation, MAF, engine load, torque
- Driver dynamics: brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle / accelerator position
- Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition correction per cylinder
Inputs, sensors, and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V and NTC sensors. Supported in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files and only need to be connected:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature transducer
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute
An external 8-LED shift light can be connected; flash colors and limits are configurable on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
Advanced functions
- Math channels: Calculate channels from other sensors
- User table: Create additional channels using 2D or 3D maps
