BMW E46 CAN-Bus Display (MFD28 Gen2)

This in-dash display is designed for BMW E46 models and reads vehicle data directly via the CAN-Bus protocol. It installs with a vehicle-specific cable set and uses a model-specific bezel to match the factory cockpit layout.

A pre-configured TRI file is included by default, listing available queries. Not every engine provides all values.

• Temperatures: coolant, intake air, exhaust gas, transmission
• Pressures: boost, ambient, oil
• Lambda/Fueling: lambda target/actual, short- and long-term lambda adjustment, MAF, engine load, torque
• Driver dynamics: brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle / pedal position
• Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition correction per cylinder

Performance & Display Functions

• Performance meter: acceleration timing for 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200
• Personalization: configurable start screen and selectable widgets

Analog Inputs, Sensors & Expansion

• 4 analog inputs supporting linear 0–5 V and NTC sensors (for oil temperature, fuel pressure, oil pressure, exhaust gas temperature, exhaust backpressure, and more)
• Ethanol sensor support via a digital input (flex-fuel): requires a 10K pull-up resistor between 5 V and signal; ethanol content and temperature can be displayed and logged
• CANchecked display sensors are integrated in the TRI/TRX files and can be connected directly:
  • AIN1: Temperature sensor
  • AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature probe
  • AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
  • AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute
• External 8-LED flash module support; configurable colors and RPM-limit indication
