Dodge Charger Display – Data Display for ECU/CAN Bus Monitoring
This in-cluster display for Ford Dodge Charger models reads ECU data directly via the manufacturer-specific CAN bus protocol and shows it on the MFD28 display. A custom-made frame is designed to integrate cleanly into the interior with an OEM-style look. The CAN bus protocol is fine-tuned for maximum query speed.
Key features
- OEM-style integration with custom-made frame
- Queries up to 128 sensors
- 10 individually configurable pages via DSS (Display Setup Software)
- Pre-configured views for quick setup
- Plug-and-play installation using the supplied OBD connection cable
- 4 analog inputs for additional sensors (e.g., EGT, oil pressure)
- Direct ethanol sensor integration
- Optional anti-glare film for improved readability
- Sensor query performance comparable to manufacturer diagnostic tools
Functions
- Performance meter: Acceleration timing (0–100, 100–200, 0–200).
- Data logging: Logs to internal SD card (on-demand or continuous). Data from the last drive is stored.
- Alarms: Pre-set warnings can be enabled and customized (example: EGT warning at 900 degrees).
- DTC read/clear: Reads ECU faults in plain text and allows deletion.
- Customization: Startup screen and widget selection can be tailored.
ECU data access (pre-configured TRI file)
A pre-configured TRI file defines the sensors that can be queried. Examples include:
- Temperatures: coolant, intake air, exhaust, transmission
- Pressures: boost, ambient, oil
- Lambda/mixture: lambda target/actual, short-term and long-term lambda adaptation, MAF, engine load, torque
- Driver dynamics: brake pressure, vehicle speed, throttle angle/gas pedal position
- Other: RPM, total ignition angle, gear, battery voltage, ignition angle correction per cylinder
Not every engine provides every value.
Vehicle fitment
- Frame fits all left-hand drive Ford Dodge Charger
- Right-hand drive version available
What’s included
- MFA28 Gen2 data display integrated in the cluster
- Quickstart guide
- USB data cable
- SD card (pre-installed in the display)
- SD card adapter
- Display foil (anti-reflection)
- Plug-and-play OBD connection cable
Connections and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V and NTC sensors. Supported sensor assignments stored in TRI/TRX files:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor
- AIN2: Type-K exhaust gas temperature transducer
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute
An external 8-LED shift light can be added. Flash colors and RPM limits are configurable on the display.
Ethanol sensor connection is direct to the display; a 10K pull-up resistor is required between 5V and signal. Ethanol content and temperature can be displayed and logged.
Advanced functions
- Math-Channels: Calculate channels from multiple sensors
- User-Table: Create additional channels using 2D or 3D maps
Optional accessories
- CC24000 SLM08 – external switching lightning module
- CC22100 CBD08 – eightfold CAN distribution hub
- CC22902 NTC01 – liquid temperature sensor 1/8" NPT
- CC22903 TCC01 – type K converter 0–1250°C
- CC22901 FLP01 – pressure sensor 0–10 bar (145 psi) M10x1
- CC22900 BST01 – pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (80 psi)
