CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 Display for Porsche 718 (LHD/RHD)

The CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 is a compact 52 mm OLED display designed to keep key engine and vehicle data in view. The OLED panel remains easy to read even in direct sunlight. Operation is via two windshield-mounted push buttons, with an optional rotary knob available.

oDSS (Online DSS) via Wi-Fi

Access the device over WLAN to configure the display from a smartphone or PC. oDSS also supports firmware updates, uploading a startup image, and data logging (license required).

Supported ECUs, protocols, and values

The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available values depend on what the ECU broadcasts on CAN; documentation (including DBC files) can be used for integration via DSS. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

OBD2 over CAN (11-bit/29-bit) is supported, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2 are available.

If a desired ECU is not listed, the appropriate TRI/TRX can be downloaded or requested from the database.

For VW/Audi (model year 2008+), deeper protocol-based queries are available, including examples such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, and wastegate actuation.

Integrated LED functions

The internal LED can be used as:

• Shift light: assign up to 8 colors and RPM limits, plus the RPM where flashing begins.
• Warning LED: set min/max limits per sensor in oDSS; when triggered, the LED flashes the configured color and overrides the shift-light function during the warning.

Each kit includes:

• MFD15 Gen2 display
• Connector B (6-way)
• Connector C (12-way)
• 20 cm pre-crimped leads for power, CAN, analog inputs, 5 V, and sensor ground

• Two 1 kΩ resistors (NTC pull-up)
• Car-specific air vent bezel
• OBD connection cable

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5 V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensor presets are included in the TRI/TRX files for the following:

• AIN1: temperature sensor
• AIN2: type K EGT transducer
• AIN3: 0–10 bar pressure sensor
• AIN4: 0–5.5 bar absolute boost pressure sensor
• AIN5: not preconfigured
• AIN6: not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connecting sensors. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can be connected directly to a dedicated pin.

Additional licenses

Live Logging

Enables logging of sensor data into oDSS and downloading logs to a smartphone or PC. Note: for OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor direct to MFD15 Gen2)

Allows a direct ethanol sensor connection. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and the signal wire. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN switching and AIN forwarding

Enables switching CAN functions using the display buttons or rotary knob, and forwarding analog input voltages onto the CAN bus.
