CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 Display for Mazda MX-5 NC
The CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 puts key ECU and sensor data in your line of sight in the Mazda MX-5 NC. It uses an OLED screen for clear readability, including in direct sunlight. With a 52 mm outer diameter and only 12.5 mm depth, it fits common 52 mm interior bezels. Operation is via two windshield-mounted push buttons or an optional rotary knob.

WLAN setup with oDSS (Online DSS)
The MFD15 Gen2 can be accessed over WLAN to configure the device from a smartphone or PC. Using oDSS you can fully set up the display, upload a startup image, update the device, and log values (license required).
Supported data and ECU protocols
The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available CAN values depend on what the ECU transmits; documentation (including DBC files) can be imported via DSS. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.
OBD2 queries over CAN (11-bit/29-bit) are implemented, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2 are supported.

If the required ECU is not listed, the appropriate TRI/TRX can be downloaded or requested from the database.
For VW/Audi vehicles from model year 2008, in-depth protocol-based queries are available, including values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, and wastegate actuation.
Internal LED (shift and warning)
The internal LED can be used as a shift light and as a warning LED.
- Shift light: up to 8 colors, speed thresholds, and a flash start point
- Warning LED: set min/max thresholds per sensor in oDSS (Sensors). If a sensor is above max or below min, the LED flashes in the configured color; shift-light mode is disabled during a warning.

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5 V sensors and NTC sensors.

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can also be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Additional licenses
Live Logging
With the Live Logging license, the display can log sensor data in oDSS and you can download the log file to a smartphone or PC. All sensors are logged; for OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged.
Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor directly to the display)
With the ethanol sensor license, a sensor can be connected directly to the display. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and signal. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.
CAN switching and analog-input forwarding
With the CAN Switching/AIN Forwarding license, the display buttons or rotary knob can switch CAN switches, and analog input voltages can be forwarded onto the CAN bus.
