CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 Display for Audi TT 8N

The CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 is a compact 52 mm OLED display designed to keep key engine and vehicle data in view. The OLED offers strong readability in direct sunlight. Operation is via two windshield-mounted push buttons or an optional rotary knob.

oDSS (Online DSS) via WLAN

The MFD15 Gen2 can be accessed over WLAN for configuration from a smartphone or PC. Using oDSS you can configure the display, upload a startup image, update firmware, and log values (license required).

ECU protocols and supported values

The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available values depend on what the ECU transmits over CAN; up to 64 sensors can be queried depending on the manufacturer. DBC documentation can be imported via DSS where available.

OBD2 queries via CAN (11-bit/29-bit) are supported. Vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2 are also available.

For VW/Audi vehicles from model year 2008, in-depth protocol-based queries are supported (examples listed: oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle retard, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation, and more).

Internal LED (shift light / warning)

The internal LED can be configured as:

• Shift light: up to 8 colors, RPM limits, and a start RPM for flashing.
• Warning LED: set min/max limits per sensor in oDSS; when a limit is exceeded the LED flashes in the configured color. During a warning event, the shift light function is disabled.

Installation, connections, and expansion

The display uses a 52 mm form factor and includes a vehicle-specific air vent bezel for installation. Six analog inputs are available for external sensors (linear 0–5 V and NTC supported). A separate pin can be used to connect an ethanol sensor directly to the display when the appropriate license is enabled.

Additional licenses

Live Logging

Enables logging of sensor data into oDSS and downloading logs to a smartphone or PC. Note: for OBD and UDS, only currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor direct to display)

Enables direct ethanol sensor input on the display. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and signal. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN Switching and AIN forwarding

Enables switching CAN outputs using the display buttons or optional rotary knob, and forwards analog input voltages onto the CAN bus.
