CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for Porsche 992
The CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 replaces a factory air vent with a vehicle-specific display integration. The bezel is designed to retain airflow past the display, while putting ECU and sensor data in your line of sight. Installation is intended to be DIY-friendly, with illustrated instructions available for most displays.
Key features
- Vehicle-specific integration: Bezel allows airflow past the display
- CAN bus data: In-depth vehicle data readout similar to manufacturer diagnostic tools
- Gear display: Via CAN bus or calculated from speed and RPM
- Touchscreen control: Page navigation with swipe gestures
- Custom pages: Create your own layouts, add images or a start animation
- Inputs: Up to 4 analog inputs plus direct ethanol sensor support
- CAN switching: Use the display as a keypad and send your own CAN messages
- Configurable alarms: Set warning thresholds (example: exhaust gas temperature above 900°C)
- Logging: Save logs to the internal SD card for later review
- Performance meter: 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200 time measurement without additional hardware
- DTC*: Read and clear faults for engine ECU, transmission, ABS, and all-wheel drive
- Auto dimming*: Dims along with the instrument panel
Display pages and layouts
- Delivered with predefined sample pages
- Up to 10 pages
- 20 widget types (e.g., sensor value, analogue pointer, YT diagram, speed bar, round display, vertical/horizontal bar)
- Drag-and-drop positioning and scalable widget sizing
- Fully adjustable widget colours
- Up to 64 widgets per page
CANchecked Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to configure the display, manage pages, and work with logs. It includes a log viewer, an integrated CAN logger, and a TRI Editor to adjust sensors (CAN bus or internal), set min/max warning limits, and rename sensors.
Data and protocols
The MFD32 Gen2 supports CAN bus queries (UDS, TP2, and manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). Displays ship with predefined TRI/TRX files defining which sensors are queried; available channels vary by engine, and missing values can be added later.
Example supported values
Temperatures
- Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature
Pressures
- Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)
Lambda / mixture
- Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment
Other
- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values
Connection and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V and NTC sensors. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected. A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection.
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
An external 8-LED shift light can be connected; colours and RPM limits are configured on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display (requires a 10K pullup resistor between 5V and the signal). Ethanol content and temperature can be displayed and logged.
Advanced functions
- Math-Channels: Calculate sensors from other channels
- User-Table: Create additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps
