CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for Toyota Yaris XP21

The vehicle-specific MFD32 Gen2 replaces the air vent insert with an integrated data display. The bezel is designed to keep airflow past the display, and installation is intended to be achievable without a workshop.

Display Setup Software (DSS)

DSS is used to configure the display, download and view log files, and use the integrated CAN logger. The integrated TRI Editor allows sensor adjustments for both CAN bus and internal sensors, including sensor names and min/max warning thresholds.

Supported data and protocols

The display supports CAN bus data query (UDS, TP2, and manufacturer-specific protocols) as well as K-Line (ISO 9141). It is delivered with predefined TRI/TRX files that define the sensors queried (varies by engine). Missing values can be added later.

Temperatures

• Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature.

Pressures

• Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target).

Lambda/mixture

• Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment.

Other

• RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values.

Connection and expansion

Connect sensors via four analog inputs. Linear 0–5V and NTC sensors are supported. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)

For wiring, a pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used.

An external shift light with eight LEDs can also be connected. Flash colors, speed limits, and colors are configurable on the display.

An ethanol sensor can be connected directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
