CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for VW Bus T5 (LHD) – Vent-Integrated CAN Data Display

The CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 replaces a factory air vent with a touchscreen data display designed to fit cleanly in the dash while still allowing airflow past the bezel. It’s built for enthusiasts who want deep ECU data, configurable warning strategies, and logging without adding extra gauges.

Supported ECU data

The display supports CAN Bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) as well as K-Line (ISO 9141). It ships with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried (varies by engine). Missing values can be added later.

Examples of supported values

Temperatures

• Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature

Pressures

• Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)

Lambda/mixture

• Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment

Other

• RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

Connections & expansion

Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V and NTC sensors. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and can be connected directly.

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)

An optional pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection.

An external shift light with eight LEDs can be connected; colours and RPM limits are configurable on the display.

An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display; a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor between 5V and signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
