CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for VW Polo MK6 (Typ AW) — Vent-Integrated Data Display
The vehicle-specific MFD32 Gen2 replaces the air-vent insert with an integrated touchscreen display while still allowing airflow past the bezel. It’s designed for straightforward installation, with illustrated instructions available for many variants.
Key features
- OEM-style integration: Vehicle-specific bezel with continued vent airflow.
- CAN Bus vehicle data: In-depth readout comparable to manufacturer diagnostic tools.
- Gear display: Via CAN Bus or calculated from speed and RPM.
- Touchscreen operation: Intuitive swipe navigation between pages.
- Page customization: Build your own layouts, add images or a start animation.
- Inputs: Up to 4 analog inputs plus direct ethanol sensor support.
- CAN switching: Use the display as a keypad and send your own CAN messages.
- Configurable alarms: Set warning thresholds (e.g., exhaust gas temperature above 900 degrees).
- Logging: Save logs to the internal SD card for later analysis.
- Performance meter: 0–100, 100–200, and 0–200 timing without additional hardware.
- DTC*: Read and clear faults for engine ECU, transmission, ABS, and all-wheel drive.
- Dimming*: Automatic dimming with the instrument panel.
Pages and display layouts
- Delivered with predefined sample pages.
- Create your own pages (up to 10).
- 20 widget types (e.g., sensor value, analogue pointer, YT diagram, speed bar, round display, vertical/horizontal bar).
- Drag-and-drop positioning and scalable widget sizing.
- Fully adjustable widget colours.
- Up to 64 widgets per page.
Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS allows full display customization, log download and viewing, and includes an integrated CAN logger. The integrated TRI Editor supports sensor setup for CAN Bus and internal sources, including min/max warning thresholds and sensor naming.
Data access and protocols
The display supports CAN Bus data query (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It is supplied with predefined TRI/TRX files defining the sensors queried (varies by engine). Missing values can be added later.
Supported values (examples)
Temperatures
- Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature.
Pressures
- Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target).
Lambda / mixture
- Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment.
Other
- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values.
Scope of delivery
- MFD32 Gen2 data display integrated in the ventilation insert (RHD vehicles)
- Vehicle-specific connection cable
- Quickstart guide
- USB data cable
- SD card (pre-installed in the display)
- SD card adapter
- Display foil (anti-reflection)
Connection and expansion
Connect sensors via four analog inputs (linear 0–5 V and NTC supported). CANchecked sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection.
An external shift light with eight LEDs can also be connected; colours and RPM limits are configured on the display.
The ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and the signal to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
Advanced functions
Math-Channels allow calculated channels from existing sensors. The User-Table enables additional sensors using 2D or 3D maps.
Optional accessories
- CC24000 SLM08 — external switching lightning module
- CC22780 ANC04 — four-way AIN harness
- CC22100 CBD08 — eight-way CAN distribution hub
- CC22902 NTC01 — temperature sensor for liquids, 1/8 inch NPT
- CC22903 TCC01 — type K converter, 0–1250°C
- CC22901 FLP01 — pressure sensor 0–10 bar (145 psi), M10x1
- CC22900 BST01 — pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (80 psi)
