CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 for VW Golf MK5

The CANchecked MFD32 Gen2 replaces an air vent with a vehicle-specific display while still allowing airflow past the screen. It’s designed for straightforward installation and is supplied with a vehicle-specific connection cable and quickstart documentation.

Setup software (DSS)

CANchecked DSS supports full display customization, includes a log viewer for downloading and reviewing log files, and integrates a CAN logger. The built-in TRI Editor lets you manage sensor definitions from CAN bus or internal sources, including naming and min/max warning thresholds.

Supported ECU values

The display is supplied with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried (varies by engine). Example values include:

Temperatures

• Exhaust, coolant, oil, intake, outside, gasoline, DSG temperature

Pressures

• Boost, ambient, fuel pressure pre-feed pump, rail pressure actual/target

Lambda / mixture

• Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment

Other

• RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values

If values are missing, they can be added later.

Connections and expansion

Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST10)

A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection. An external 8-LED shift light can also be connected, with configurable colours and thresholds directly on the display. An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display (requires a 10K pullup resistor between 5V and signal) to view and log ethanol content and temperature.

Advanced functions

• Math-Channels: Calculate channels from other sensors.
