CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 for Subaru WRX VA
The MFD28 Gen2 replaces the factory air vent with a vehicle-specific display solution that remains readable at a glance while still allowing airflow past the screen. Installation is designed to be achievable without a workshop; illustrated instructions are available for most variants.

Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to customize the display, download and view log files, and run an integrated CAN logger. An integrated TRI Editor lets you adjust sensor settings (CAN bus or internal), set warning min/max thresholds, and rename sensors.
Supported ECU values (examples)
The display supports CAN bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It is supplied with predefined TRI/TRX files; sensor availability depends on engine and can be extended later if values are missing.
Temperatures
- Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature
Pressures
- Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)
Lambda / mixture
- Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment
Other values
- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values
Connections and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5 V and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
An external 8-LED shift light can be connected, with configurable colours and speed limits directly on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display; a 10 kΩ pull-up resistor between 5 V and signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
