CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 Vent Display for Porsche 911 (997)
The CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 replaces an air vent with an integrated data display while still allowing airflow past the screen. It’s designed for straightforward installation, and illustrated instructions are available for most displays.

Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to customize the display, download and view log files, and use the integrated CAN logger. The integrated TRI Editor lets you configure sensors (CAN Bus or internal), set min/max warning thresholds, and rename sensors.
ECU data and supported protocols
The display supports CAN Bus data queries (UDS, TP2, manufacturer-specific protocols) and K-Line (ISO 9141). It ships with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried; available sensors vary by engine and file set. Missing values can be added later.

Connection and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected.
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature converter (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection. An external shift light with eight LEDs is supported, with configurable colors and RPM limits directly on the display. An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display; a 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and the signal is required to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
Advanced functions
Math-Channels allow calculations between sensors. User-Table enables additional calculated sensors using 2D or 3D maps.
