CANchecked MFD28 Gen2 for Hyundai i30 N FL
The MFD28 Gen2 replaces the air-vent insert with a vehicle-specific display solution, designed to integrate cleanly while still allowing airflow past the screen. Installation is intended to be straightforward, and illustrated instructions are available for most displays.

Pages, views, and widgets
- Delivered with predefined sample pages.

- 20 widget types (e.g., sensor value, analogue pointer, YT diagram, speed bar, round display, vertical/horizontal bar).
- Drag-and-drop placement; widgets can be resized and recolored.
- Up to 64 widgets per page.
Display Setup Software (DSS)
DSS is used to customize the display, download and view log files, and use the integrated CAN logger. The built-in TRI Editor lets you edit sensors (CAN bus or internal), set min/max warning limits, and rename sensors.
Data access and supported protocols
The display supports extensive ECU data depending on vehicle and configuration. It can query CAN bus data (UDS, TP2, and manufacturer-specific protocols) and also supports K-Line (ISO 9141).
The display is delivered with predefined TRI/TRX files that define which sensors are queried (varies by engine). Missing values can be added later.

Temperatures
- Exhaust temperature, coolant temperature, oil temperature, intake temperature, outside temperature, gasoline temperature, DSG temperature
Pressures
- Boost pressure, ambient pressure, fuel pressure (pre-feed pump), rail pressure (actual/target)
Lambda / mixture
- Lambda value, injection time, short-term lambda adjustment, long-term lambda adjustment
Other
- RPM, air mass, vehicle speed, throttle angle, total ignition angle, ignition angle retraction per cylinder, N75 timing (%), terminal 30 voltage, torque, gear, diesel-specific values
Connection and expansion
Four analog inputs support linear 0–5V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked in-house sensors are stored in the TRI/TRX files by default and only need to be connected:
- AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
- AIN2: Type K exhaust gas temperature transducer (TCC01)
- AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
- AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
A pre-assembled AIN wiring harness can be used for connection.
An external shift light with eight LEDs can be connected; flash colors, limits, and colors can be configured directly on the display.
An ethanol sensor connects directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor is required between 5V and the signal to view and log ethanol content and temperature.
