CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 CAN Data Display Kit for Renault Clio 3

This vehicle-specific MFD15 Gen2 kit puts key ECU and sensor data in your line of sight. The OLED screen stays readable even in direct sunlight. The kit includes a Renault Clio 3-specific bezel and connection harness, and is controlled via the two front push buttons (optional rotary knob supported).

Setup and updates via oDSS (WiFi)

The MFD15 Gen2 can be accessed over WiFi for configuration using a smartphone or PC. With oDSS you can configure the display, upload a startup image, update the display, and log values (logging requires a license).

ECU / protocol support

The display is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available ECU values depend on what the ECU transmits on CAN; documentation (including DBC files) may be required and can be imported via DSS. Depending on the manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

OBD2 via CAN (11-bit/29-bit) is supported, and vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2 are available.

If the required ECU is not listed, the appropriate TRI/TRX can be downloaded or requested from the database.

For VAG vehicles from model year 2008 (and in some cases older), in-depth protocol-based queries are available, including examples such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, and wastegate actuation.

Integrated LED (shift light / warning)

The internal LED can be configured as a shift light or a warning LED.

• Shift light: up to 8 colors, configurable RPM thresholds, and flash point
• Warning LED: assign min/max limits per sensor; LED flashes in the configured color when out of range (shift light is disabled during warnings)

Analog input support and sensor presets

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5 V sensors and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensor characteristic curves are stored on the display from the factory for plug-and-play use:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K EGT transducer (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
• AIN5: Not preconfigured
• AIN6: Not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can also be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Additional licenses

Live Logging

With the “Live Logging” license, the display can log sensor data into oDSS and you can download the log file to a smartphone or PC. All sensors are logged, but for OBD and UDS only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel ethanol sensor (direct to MFD15 Gen2)

With the ethanol sensor license, the sensor can be connected directly to the display. A 10K pull-up resistor between 5V and the signal is required. Ethanol content and fuel temperature can be displayed and logged.

CAN switching and AIN forwarding

With the CAN Switching / AIN Forwarding license, the display buttons or the rotary knob can be used to switch CAN switches and to apply analog input voltages to the CAN bus.
