CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 CAN Data Display Kit for Mini Cooper R55/R56/R57/R58/R59 (MK2)

The CANchecked MFD15 Gen2 is a compact OLED data display designed to keep key engine and vehicle parameters in view with excellent readability, including in direct sunlight. This Mini-specific kit includes a vehicle-specific bezel and connection cable set. Operation is via two faceplate push buttons, with support for an optional external rotary knob.

WiFi configuration with oDSS

The MFD15 Gen2 can be accessed over WiFi for setup via smartphone or PC. oDSS allows full display configuration, firmware updates, startup image upload, and data logging (license required).

ECU/CAN and supported data sources

The MFD15 Gen2 is compatible with ISO 11898-2 and SAE J2284. Available values depend on what your ECU transmits on CAN; documentation (including DBC files) can be used for setup. Depending on manufacturer, up to 64 sensors can be queried.

OBD2 queries over CAN (11-bit/29-bit) are supported, along with vehicle-specific protocols such as UDS and TP2.

If a specific ECU is not listed, the appropriate TRI/TRX can be downloaded or requested from the CANchecked database.

For VAG vehicles from model year 2008 (in some cases older), protocol-based in-depth queries are available for values such as oil temperature, boost pressure, transmission temperature, cylinder-selective ignition angle return, high/low pressure, wastegate actuation, and more.

Integrated LED functions

The internal LED can be configured as:

• Shift light: up to 8 different colors, RPM limits, and a configurable flash point
• Warning LED: per-sensor minimum/maximum thresholds with flashing in the configured color; shift light is disabled during warning

Analog inputs and sensor support

Six analog inputs support linear 0–5 V and NTC sensors. CANchecked sensor curves are preloaded for plug-and-play use on the following inputs:

• AIN1: Temperature sensor (NTC01)
• AIN2: Type K thermocouple transducer for EGT (TCC01)
• AIN3: Pressure sensor 0–10 bar (FLP01)
• AIN4: Boost pressure sensor 0–5.5 bar absolute (BST01)
• AIN5: Not preconfigured
• AIN6: Not preconfigured

A pre-assembled 4-way AIN harness can be used for connection. With the appropriate license, an ethanol sensor can also be connected directly to the display via a separate pin.

Additional licenses

Live Logging

With the “Live Logging” license, the display can log sensor data into oDSS and the log can be downloaded to your smartphone or PC. For OBD and UDS, only the currently displayed sensors are logged.

Flex Fuel (ethanol sensor)

With the ethanol sensor license, the sensor connects directly to the display. A 10 kΩ pull-up resistor is required between 5 V and the signal. Ethanol content, fuel temperature, and logging are supported.

CAN switching and AIN forwarding

With the CAN Switching/AIN Forwarding license, the display buttons or rotary knob can switch CAN functions and forward analog input voltages to the CAN bus.
