Mazda Miata Oil Catch Can System

Enhance the engine efficiency of your 2016 Mazda Miata with this direct-fit oil catch can system designed to protect against harmful blow-by. Direct injection engines, such as the one in the 2016 Miata, are prone to accelerated carbon build-up due to the absence of port injection, which typically cleans the valves with fuel during operation. Our engineers identified significant oil accumulation in the intake manifold, primarily from the PCV system, leading to carbon deposits and reduced octane levels.

This oil catch can system effectively prevents blow-by from entering the intake, promoting a cleaner-running engine. The kit includes a 2-port Compact Baffled Oil Catch Can featuring a bronze filter and internal baffle for optimal separation of oil from crankcase vapors. Installation is straightforward with two direct-fit hoses and an application-specific bracket.

Unlike traditional air-oil-separator (AOS) systems, this catch can is unheated, allowing all blow-by, including low-octane oil vapors and contaminated fuel vapors, to condense within the can. Most AOS systems return blow-by to the oil pan, but our catch can permanently traps it, preventing it from re-entering the engine.
