Designed for VW and Audi AEB 1.8L Turbo 20V engines, the ARP 204-4102 Pro Series head studs provide superior clamping force and reliability for high-performance and racing applications. Manufactured from premium grade 8740 alloy and proprietary ARP2000 alloy, these studs offer tensile strengths of 190,000 psi and 220,000 psi, respectively—well above standard “aircraft” quality steels.
Each stud is individually heat-treated for full penetration and is centerless ground to ensure precise tolerances. This results in easy alignment of gaskets and cylinder heads, promoting perfect fitment and reducing the risk of head gasket failure.
Using head studs instead of bolts ensures more accurate and consistent torque loading, as the stud is only stretched along its vertical axis during installation.
